Qiu JianZhi and Zhuo HuiQi are two young civil suit lawyers. JianZhi tries hard to serve the people with his juridical knowledge while HuiQi attempts to reach her ambitious high level of living standard. They are totally different, however due to several cases in court, they often have to deal and stand for opposite side of the cases. HuiQi rents a room from JianZhi's mother. JianZhi's mother always wanted HuiQi to move out and hence they've been always quarrelling over trivial matters.
所谓法律不外人情，本故事便是通过这两名律师，在帮助客户进行诉讼的过程中，从案件中显示出人间有情，亲情、爱情、友情，也要让人知道大公无私的法律底下，人性的真善美才是最重要。 邱健志和卓慧琪都是年青有为的民事诉讼律师，健志是一心要为民请命，而慧琪则希望发奋向上，在社会上出人头地。本来两个是完全不相干的人，却因为几件案件把二人拉在一起，结果在法庭上二人成为一对棋逢敌手的寃家对头，私底下慧琪又正好租住了健志妈妈的房子，所以两人常为一些鸡毛蒜皮的事情，互相指责，令二人更是成为誓成水火的死敌。
